1816 N-5 R3 PCGS AU Detail Altered Surface. Choice glossy medium chocolate brown and steel. The surfaces are perfectly smooth and virtually flawless. A tiny puff of slightly lighter toning on the lower point of star 9 can help identify this cent. MDS. The repunching at the left bottom of the N in CENT is clear and the edge is partially reeded from star 4 to star 7. A very nice cent in spite of the confusing "Altered Surface" assessment by PCGS. Our grade is EF45. The attribution is noted on the PCGS label. PCGS #36535. Estimated Value $500 - UP
Ex Harlan Berk 2/9/1985-Jim Corrado, McCawley & Grellman Auctions/Goldbergs 2/11/2007:376-Chuck Hall Collection (includes the Corrado collection envelope and lot ticket).
