Jackson, Andrew -- Land Grant to a Prominent Missouri Citizen (1767-1845) 7th President of the United States (1829-37). Partly-printed document signed "Andrew Jackson" as President, one page, vellum, 9½ x 15½", Washington, Mar. 1, 1831. A grant of land in St. Louis containing ninety-six and eighty hundredths of an acre to Irvine O. Hockaday of Callaway County, Missouri. Countersigned by Land Commissioner Elijah Hayward. Seal at lower left is stained but intact. A lengthy endorsement by Hockaday as recorder for Callaway County is on verso. Jackson's bold signature measures 5½" across. Normal folds, else fine. Hockaday was an early settler of Missouri and became one of its most prominent citizens. Estimate $1,000 - 1,500
