1824/2 N-1 R1 Overdate 4 over 2 VF20. Sharpness EF40 but dark and covered with extremely fine corrosion on all but the highpoints. The roughness is strongest on the bust tip and at star 1. No notable signs of verdigris, and the only contact mark of any significance is a tiny rim bruise at ST in STATES. Somewhat frosty dark steel and olive with splashes of lighter reddish chocolate toning on the obverse. Not the most attractive cent, but sharp and still quite acceptable. MDS, prior to any rim crumbling on the obverse.
