Lot 582

1819 N-2 R1 Large Date EF45. Sharper by at least 5 points but the obverse was lightly cleaned and has retoned glossy bluish steel brown and chocolate with undertones of lighter reddish brown in protected areas. The reverse is a very attractive bluish steel brown and chocolate. The only marks are a speck of very fine carbon in the field behind the neck, a light scratch under star 7, and a nick at the left foot of the E in CENT. Sharply struck VEDS with hard, reflective fields on both sides. The repunching on the 8 is clear and the so-called 9 over 8 overdate feature is sharp. This cent offers excellent eye appeal in spite of the old retoning.
Estimated Value $150-UP.

Realized $633
