Harrison, Benjamin -- Letter Signed (1833-1901) 23rd President of the United States (1889-1893); he was the grandson of the ninth president, William Henry Harrison (1841). Manuscript letter signed "Benj Harrison," one page, on Fifth Avenue Hotel letterhead, 7¾ x 4¾", Nov. 6. 1899. To R. N. Johnston, saying he would be glad to see him the next day but warning him: "Perhaps I ought not to anticipate the object of your call, but if it relates to any proposition looking to my writing something for the Century [popular magazine published from 1881-1930], come with a mind prepared for a disappointment." Fine condition. Matted with a color image of Harrison and framed to an overall size of 21½ x 13¾". Estimate $300 - 500
