1723 Wood's Hibernia Farthing. . Breen-169. PCGS graded MS-62 Brown D:G:Rex First Prototype Variety. Double St. Frosty light to medium steel brown with a half dozen tiny splashes of dark olive planchet slag on the right half of the obverse and a thin planchet fissure above the head, as struck. No contact marks or other defects. Sharply double struck with an offset between impressions of no more than 1 millimeter and the second impression slightly off center. The doubling is obvious on both sides, and the double struck feature of this piece is noted on the PCGS label. A rare type to begin with, but especially rare as a mint error.
