Max Beerbohn. A Book of Caricatures. London: Methuen and Co., c. 1913. Loose folio with red cloth covers, toned and grubby. 49 caricatures mounted to 14¾" x 10¾" card stock, with descriptions on overlays (toned with edge tears); scattered foxing to card stock. Beerbohm's "victims" include artists (Sargent is pictured on the frontispiece), authors (e.g., George Bernard Shaw and Henry James), and politicians (including a young Winston Churchill). With two contemporary newspaper clippings regarding a showing of Beerbohm's cartoons at the Leicester Galleries in 1913. A wonderful gallery of early 19th century characters.
