1844/81 N-2 R2. VF-25 Plus. Overdate 44 over Inverted 18. Slightly sharper but faint hairlines cover the devices on both sides. The hairlines are not visible to the unaided eye and blend nicely into the attractive glossy light chocolate brown toning. E-MDS, die state b. The inverted 18 under the 44 is bold. A decent example of this popular "Redbook" variety in spite of the fine hairlines.
