Men's Watch: Rare Collector's Wakmann Chronograph. Working Condition and in Very Good to Fine Condition. There is a library of information on Icko Wakmann founder of Wakmann Watch Co. when he moved to NYC after WWII to manufacture chronograph watches and cockpit clocks which originally began in 1943 in Portugal. The relocation also was a strategy as an end around to the restrictions in place on Swiss watch imports. Ultimately he partnered with Breitling in 1947 and together established a global brand.

Offered is an early 1970s chronograph manual wind watch in working condition. The leather band is new but the watch appears very much in its original state. Keeps perfect time, 17 jewels INCABLOC with France printed along bottom edge. The face has mild discoloration otherwise fine. For collectors, this particular watch is a significant footnote in watch brands. One of the finest watch makers most people have never head of.
In a standard watch box for protection. Estimated Value $900 - 1,800

Realized $969
