Lot 512

1833 C-1 R1. PCGS graded MS-64 Brown. CAC. Lustrous light to medium steel brown blending to light chocolate. The surfaces are lustrous and the eye appeal is outstanding. The only marks (and they are trivial) are a faint puff of slightly darker toning above the back of the head, a tiny rim nick below the end of the wreath stem, and a small horizontal nick over the F in HALF. EDS, Manley state 1.0, with die clashmarks on the reverse but none on the obverse. The field inside the wreath is reflective thanks to a fresh die polishing. A very nice half cent, close to choice. Our grade is MS62+. The attribution and Widok Collection provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 7; 4 finer: 2 in 64+, 1 in 65, 1 in 66. (PCGS # 35282) Value $900 - UP
Ex Gary Swanson 11/8/1992-The Widok Collection.
