Scott, Sir Francis. "Peveril of the Peak" (1822, Four Volumes). (1771-1832) "Peveril of the Peak" printed by Archibald Constable and Co. Edinburgh and Hurst, Robinson, and Co. London 1822.

First volume has advertisements, 12 pages of "Popular Novels Published by Longman, Hurst, Rees, Orme and Brown dated January 1823 so this is likely a second printing. Books should be considered almost as stage props, decorative or antique books. Third volume's front clapboard has separated but present. Otherwise all volumes have two hand written names in iron galt black ink by two previous owners, the paper spines very dark and with chipping to labels, some foxing on end paper of volume IV, but the deckled pages are intact, with none missing, the spines are stout and all four volumes present. At some point a clamshell box was created for these four volumes with Peveril Of The Peak, Scott, 1822 printed in gold gilt on spine. Estimated Value $100 - 300
