Charles Sumner. A beautifully-colored, three-quarter portrait of Charles Sumner, the abolitionist senator from Massachusetts, 32½ x 17½ in. Probably by Currier & Ives. Much paper loss to borders and several edge tears, barely visible; one longer tear reaches into the bottom right of Sumner's coat. Attractively matted and shrink wrapped. With framing and some minor touch up, this piece would display very nicely.
