1826 Braided Hair Cent. 6 over 5. Newcomb-8, Rarity-3. . N-8. Del Bland graded EF-40. Extremely Fine-40 with two long, line-like planchet defects at stars nine and ten. At least five points sharper but light porosity is visible around star four, over star eight and below D in UNITED. Medium brown with darker brown on most of the reverse. The underlying 5 is plainly visible below the top curve of the 6.
Not only is this a nice coin, but the pedigree is quite wonderful too. D.
