Apollo 12, 1969, FLOWN Heatshield Plug (1.25x2.5?) mounted in a clear lucite cylinder (3x3") which is mounted on a sloping rectangular wooden base (7x5") with a metal ID plaque that reads: "Apollo 12 / Nov. 14-24, 1969". From the consignor's personal collection, locating a full "plug" is much rarer than locating one that has been sectioned. A consignor's multicolor certificate of authenticity is included that reads, in part: "This is a plug from the Heat Shield of the Apollo XII Command Module. It is from my personal collection." Attractive and scarce.
Estimated Value $1,000 - 1,500.
Ex. the astronaut Richard "Dick" Gordon collection.
