Judea, Seleucid Ascalon. Antiochus VIII, 121-96 BC. AR Tetradrachm (13.5 g), struck 119/118 BC. . Hen-417. Rare. Diademed head of Antiochus VIII right. Reverse: Eagle standing left on thunderbolt, palm at shoulder, Seleucid date at right (year 194); monogram and dove in left field. Hendin 417; ACNAC 4: Houghton 822 var. On tight flan with usual metal porosity. Well struck up and quite handsome for this series. Nearly Extremely Fine.
