Phoenicia. Tyre, after 126 BC. AR Shekel-Tetradrachm (14.1 g), struck 88/87 BC. Laureate, skin-clad bust of Melkaart right. Reverse: Eagle standing left on prow, palm branch at shoulder, club and date in fields (year 39). BMC --; SNG Cop. 322 var. Well centered on small flan. Lightly toned, with much remaining luster. Very Fine, the obverse better.
