Orson Welles: CITIZEN KANE Oversized Still of Welles Applying His Own Makeup. Rare Oversized Photo Signed by Muky. Menyhert Munkacsi (1909-1999) known throughout the film industry for 60 years as "Muky" and who the New York Times called "the Mathew Brady" of film when they profiled/reviewed the outdoor set photography of some 75 films. He was also an accomplished studio photographer working for Warner Brothers from 1930 to 1940.
Outstanding 11 x 14 vintage, full bleed, re-strike photo of Orson Welles applying his old age makeup with Maurice Seiderman, his makeup artist, likely out of frame. Lower right of photo Muky has signed his name while on the verso is stamped is "Photo by Muky". CITIZEN KANE is considered the top 5 best films of all time making this photograph quite special.
