Marilyn Monroe: Lot #3 "George Barris "Last Photoshoot" (4) Single Weight Color Photos Stamped on Verso with Barris Copyright Information. In 1962 at Santa Monica beach, and in the Hollywood Hills, photographer George Barris' series became known as "The Last Photos." Barris was collaborating on a book titled Marilyn: Her Life In Her Own Words at the time of her death.
This collection of Marilyn Monroe photos provided by George Barris, an inventory of photos he had considered having commercially duplicated on posters and prints. The photos from the SEVEN YEAR ITCH also in this auction are also from the same endeavor however it appears the co-production never happened.
The numbers affixed to top corners of photos were for inventory purposes. All of the photos have Copyright George Barris and studio information at Newbury Park, CA stamped on verso and on sleeves.
All photos are 8 x 10" and in pristine condition. Estimated Value $700 - 900
