1787 New Jersey. . Maris 62-q Rarity-1. PCGS graded AU-55 Large Planchet with Plain Shield. Very attractive frosty steel brown and chocolate with a small splash of darker olive toning at the dentils off the end of the plow beam. No planchet flaws, corrosion, or verdigris. The strike is sharp except for minor weakness in the centers, as usual. No marks or other defects. Late die state with strong cracks at the tip of the plow and under the beam. A choice example that's at the lower end of the condition census for the variety.
