Billie Dove, "Sweethearts and Wives" (1903 - 1997) Billie Dove was an American actress who appeared in numerous silent films in the 1920s and 1930s. She began her career as a model, and then transitioned into acting, appearing in The Ziegfeld Follies Revue. Dove began to appear in silent films in 1921 and quickly became a popular leading lady, starring opposite many of the top male stars at the time. She was known for her beauty and her ability to convey emotion on screen.
A leather bound album, embossed with the text "BILLIE DOVE IN SWEETHEARTS AND WIVES", holds 69 still photographs from the 1930 American pre-Code mystery film starring Billie Dove, Clive Brook, Sidney Blackmer, Leila Hyams, Albert Gran, Crauford Kent, John Loder, and Rolfe Sedan.
