Jewish Coinage. Roman Judaea Capta Series. Vespasian, 69-79 CE. AE Sestertius minted 71 CE. Laureate head right of Vespasian. Reverse: Palm tree; to left, captive standing right; to right, personification of Judaea seated right on cuirass; both figures surrounded by arms. Reverse somewhat rough. Excellent detail with medium dark maroon patina. Choice Very Fine.

While this sestertius may have been issued at Rome, the tall letters, reverse style and planchet characteristics could signify a provincial mint.
