Austria. Ducat, 1657. Fr-225 variant; KM-70v. Breslau (Silesia) mint. Mintmaster, GH (Georg Hubner, 1648-1664). 3.43 grams. 21.65 mm. Ferdinand III, 1637-1657. Obv. Older bust, crowned breaking inner circle at top. Leg: FERDINAND.III.D:G.R.I.S.A.G.H.B.REX.DVX.SI: Reverse: Crowned double eagle holding sword and scepter, breaking inner cirlce at top. Leg: ARCHIDVX.AVS.DVX.BVR.MA.MO.COM.T.1657. Lovely original mint luster. Scarcer bust variety. NGC graded MS-63.

This coin was struck right before Ferdinand's death. He appears as a much older man. A far less seen variety than the younger portrait. An amazingly sharp example for the type.
