Two Legends of Universal Horror: Signed Pieces by Boris Karloff and Lon Chaney Jr (1887-1969) Boris Karloff starred in a great many classic films but his legacy no doubt is his portrayal of Frankenstein's monster both in FRANKENSTEIN (1931) and BRIDE OF FRANKENSTEIN (1935) but enjoyed acclaim as a mob boss in the original SCARFACE, the hilarious, pitch perfect OLD DARK HOUSE and teaming up with director John Ford in THE LOST PATROL. Signature is very hard to find, with forgeries abundant. Offered is a rare signed contract dated September 29, 1948 to be represented by MCA Artists Limited for three years. Authenticated by both JSA and R&R Auctions, Karloff has signed in black fountain pen ink with his agent signing just below.
(1906-1973) Brilliant actor most well known for his starring role in THE WOLFMAN, SON OF DRACULA, THE GHOST OF FRANKENSTEIN and many other Universal Horror films. Chaney also gave a landmark performance playing Lenny in OF MICE AND MEN with fine supporting roles also in HIGH NOON and THE DEFIANT ONES. Chaney has signed a trimmed sheet measuring 3 x 5" "Luck Art, Lon Chaney in blue ball point pen using a large letter "L" for both "luck" and "Lon" which is terrific.
