Lot 383

1802 S-232 R1. PCGS graded AU-53. Attractive glossy chocolate and steel brown with frosty lighter brown toning in protected areas on both sides. The only defects are an easily missed speck of reddish verdigris on the drapery folds above the 0 in the date and a very shallow nick on the jawline. E-MDS, Breen state III, with dull die clashmarks at MERICA but before the cud break at ATE. An attractive example of this common die variety. Our grade is EF40.
Estimated Value $800-UP.
