After Titian 18th Century "Girl With Basket of Fruits, 'Lavinia' " in Likely Original Handcarved Gilt Frame. Tiziano Vecelli or Tiziano Vecellio (1488- 1576), known in English as Titian, was the most important Italian painter and member of the 16th-century Venetian school. His influence on the Italian Renaissance and future generations of Western art proved considerable. Offered is a superb, monumental early 19th century oil on canvas after Titian, titled Girl with a Basket of Fruits (Lavinia), which was painted 1555-1558. It features an attractive young woman holding a tray of flowers and fruits. Lavinia Vecellio, the model here, was Titian's daughter. The oil on canvas has been categorized as Mannerism (Late Renaissance)

An absolutely beautiful work, actual canvas measures 38½ x 31". It is framed in what appears to be its orginal frame, in itself a magnificent and heavy example of the craftsmanship European Masters exhibited their works. 51 x 43" There is age crazing throughout the painting and one tiny flake in the darkest part of her dress, otherwise in excellent condition. We invite everyone to preview this and all our artwork at our office in Los Angeles or feel free to request additional photos.
