Lot 377

1839. MS-65 Brown. CAC. Frosty light olive and steel with mellowed mint red covering the protected areas on both sides, especially on the reverse. Just a few tiny marks including a speck of crud nestled against the left foot of the N in ONE and a speck of carbon under the left edge of the R in AMERICA. The luster is a bit subdued by a microscopic layer of oxidation but the eye appeal is excellent. LDS. The fine diagonal die lines behind ONE CENT are gone. Graded MS63 and tied for CC#3 in the Noyes census, his photo #27294. Our grade is MS63. A nice "Booby Head" cent and it comes with an excellent provenance. The Nancy & Bryan Collection provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 4; 1 finer in 67. (PCGS # 37246) Value $4,750 - UP
