1846 N-17 R4 EF45. Sharpness very close to mint state but the obverse is covered with microscopic roughness under frosty reddish chocolate brown toning. The reverse, however, is choice with lustrous steel brown and chocolate toning. There are a few very tiny specks of verdigris just left of star 11 but no notable signs of contact. Sharply struck VEDS, die state a, with hard, slightly reflective fields on the reverse. All the fine die lines are present on the reverse and there are no die cracks. Estimated Value $350-UP
