Ionia. Miletos, before 575 BC. Electrum Stater (13.89 g). Reclining lion left, head reverted, within segmented rectangular border. Reverse: Three incuse punches: central with fox(?) left; above, cruciform of five connected pellets; bottom, monogram-like square of four connected pellets. Cf. Weidauer 126, Boston MFA 1882, and Kraay-Hirmer 591, all with slightly different reverse punches. Lion of choice archaic style, and unusually well detailed. Very Fine. Estimated Value $2,500 - 3,000
