Zapata, Emiliano -- War-date TLS With Military Content (1879-1919) Mexican revolutionary; one of the most important military and peasant leaders of the Mexican Revolution of 1910-1920. He instituted land reforms in Morelos (the Ayala Plan) and was the inspiration of the agrarian movement called Zapatismo. Typed Letter Signed as Commander-in-Chief of the Mexican Republic Liberation Army, Headquarters in Cuernavaca, Apr. 28, 1916, 1p, 13½x8½. To Citizen Attorney Gregorio Zuñiga, Tlaltizapán, suggesting that of the corn Zuñiga ordered, he should give 30 loads to the bearers of the present delivery for the sustenance of the forces in the line of fire throughout the regions corresponding to this zone: "Recomiendo a usted que del maíz que compre, entregue a los portadores de la presente treinta cargas de dicho cereal que se destina para el sostenimiento de las fuerzas que ten en la linea de fuego por los sectores correspondientes a esta zona…" The signature is large and bold.
