(Prussian Military History) August Graf Neidhardt von Gneiseneau,- Commander of Troops Who Captured Napoleon (1760-1831) Highly-decorated Prussian Field Marshal who, as a young man, served alongside the English in the American Revolution, fought at Jena in 1806, in the War of Liberation, and alongside Scharnhorst, was instrumental in the reorganization of the Prussian army. He was Chief of Staff to von Blücher during the Waterloo Campaign and was commanding troops who captured Napoleon after the battle. His Chief of Staff in 1830 was von Clausewitz. Autograph Letter Signed, 1828, 8¼x5, in German. Estimated Value $500 - 700
