Lot 362

1809 C-6 R1 PCI graded MS60. Frosty medium brown and light chocolate. An attractive half cent that looks mint state to the unaided eye, but a glass reveals a bit of rub on the highpoints of the devices. The notable marks are a small planchet flake in the field above the bust (as struck) and a tiny rim bruise at star 7. LDS, Manley state 6.0, with narrow rim cud breaks from above the back of the head to star 10. The details at the bottom of the reverse are severely weakened by die wear. Our grade is AU50. Estimated Value $300 - UP
Ex Douglas F. Bird-Bob Willoughby Collection.
