Lot 357

1828 N-6 R1. PCGS graded MS-65 Brown. CAC. Choice lustrous reddish tan and light brown with light olive brown toning on the right side of the reverse. Traces of underlying faded mint red show on both sides and this cent has great eye appeal. A thin vertical line of darker toning down from the curl left of star 13 can help identify this cent, and there is a small nick in the center of this line. Otherwise the only notable mark is a very faint hairline from the chin into the field over star 2 where it fades out. Sharply struck LDS with obvious lumps from die rust on the portrait and several fine die cracks on the obverse including one from the tip of the coronet through star 6. Graded MS60 and tied for CC#9 in the Noyes census, his photo #59766. Our grade is MS60+. The attribution and Nancy & Bryan Collection provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 4; none finer in BN at PCGS. (PCGS # 36889) Value $1,700 - UP
Ex Thomas D. Reynolds 7/28/2005-Nancy & Bryan Collection.
