Hansen, Armin -- Celebrated, Historic Coastal California Artist. Fisherman (1886-1957) Born in San Francisco, Hansen spent time four years of his young adult life on Norwegian steam trawlers. He settled in 1913 in Monterey, instrumental in forming the Carmel Art Institute and lived at the same studio/home until his death. His seascapes, coastal scenes, and life within the fishing industry of the Monterey Peninsula brought him great acclaim in American art. Offered is one of his original fine dry point etchings on paper entitled "Fisherman" ca. 1930, as seen in "THE GRAPHIC ART OF ARMIN C. HANSEN: A CATALOGUE RAISONNE" by Anthony White Sinclaire Hitchings, and Raymond L. Wilson. Etching measures 8¼ x 10¼"; framed and matted to 17 x 19" in a gilt-wood frame. It appears to be in excellent condition. Estimate Value $900 - UP
