Lot 3337

1911-S $5 Indian. PCGS graded MS-63. Lovely sunset golden toning. The satin-like luster is almost unimpaired by abrasions of any size. Devices were struck with the primary energy required to impart most of the design to the outer areas as well as enough vigor by the dies to impart clear-cut centers. Only a few feather ends show any softening. 1911-S, like others from this branch mint, is scarce in Mint State condition. Specialists as well as agitated amateur collectors in the series will be bidding, so award it a strong mid-four figure bid. Pop 100; 26 finer; 18 in 64; 7 in 65; 1 in 66. (PCGS # 8522) .
Estimated Value $4,000 - 4,400.

Realized $5,060
