1786 New Jersey. . Maris 20-N Rarity-4. Fine-12. Wide shield. Glossy medium brown and chocolate. There is some pre-striking planchet roughness on the obverse in the form of shallow planchet voids, but the remainder of the planchet is smooth and free of defects. The reverse is choice and grades at least VF20. The 8 in the date is weak due to the planchet chips but everything else is complete and clear. Intermediate die state. Weight 162.3 grains.
