Lot 3289

Great Britain. Crown, 1820. S-3787; ESC-219; Dav-103; KM-675. George III, 1760-1820. LX edge (struck during the final month of the king's life: he died in January 1820). A beautiful coin having a bold strike with crisp detail on both sides and delightful eye-appeal, iridescent deep blue, lilac-mauve, and pale gold toning. This wonderful coin would be MS66 or finer were it not for some ancient scratches (under the toning) on the reverse in the field just to the right of the dragon. In a new 4 prong NGC holder. NGC graded MS-63.
Estimated Value $1,500 - 1,800.
