Great Britain. Dollar, ND (1797). S.3765A; ESC-129; KM-634. George III, 1760-1820. Oval countermark upon Mexico 1794 8 Reales. Bust of Charles IV, CAROLUS IV DEI GRATIA. Reverse: Crowned shield of arms within two pillars. Lightly cleaned. Unusually well struck countermark and pleasing overall surfaces which are free of significant blemishes. With much original luster, and well centered, this is a handsome example of this scarce emergency issue coinage. Extremely Fine to About Uncirculated.
