Estimated Value $9,000 - 10,000.
This coin is overstruck upon a thin-flan bronze whose original-striking facial features are visible on the body of the amphora, as well as having the understriking obverse inscription "…HAD…" legible at the periphery. Strong understrikes are seldom encountered in the bronze series. Although all Bar Kokhba War coins were overstruck upon earlier coins, the bronzes were systematically filed, as being of a harder metal. The hated Roman emperors and pagan deities on bronze issues were better erased by filing than merely to be overstruck with the new dies, as were the silver issues.
