FR-1215. 1922, $100 Gold Certificate. CGA Choice New 63. . Fr-1215. . KL-827. A very choice specimen of this bright orange design, with the front combining black design, yellow filigree overprint with blue serial numbers and red Treasury seal. A colorful reminder of the type of paper money once in use in America, circa 1922-33. "This certificate is a legal tender in the amount thereof in payment of all debts and dues public and private. Acts of March 14, 1900, as amended and December 24, 1919" reads the obligation. ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS IN GOLD COIN REPAYABLE TO THE BEARER ON DEMAND is a unique way putting the obligation. Portrait of Thomas Hart Benton, who served in both the U.S. Senate and in the U.S. House of Representatives from the 1820s to the 1850s.
