Lot 325

1847 N-8 R3. PCGS graded MS-64 Brown Plus. Lustrous frosty steel brown faded down from mint red with at least 20% of the planchet showing mint color. Looks like a choice RB cent to us. The only marks are some dull, light scrapes that are barely visible on the rim at stars 4 & 5. MDS, die state b, with a fine die crack through the top of ME to the dentils at AM but no rim cud breaks. Our grade is MS63+, tied for CC#1 honors in the Grellman census. Removed from a PCGS slab graded MS65BN (PCGS label #1877.65/13000403 included). PCGS population 1; 1 finer in 65 for the variety at PCGS. The attribution is noted on the PCGS label (PCGS # 37286) .
Estimated Value $1,000-UP.
