Macedonian Kingdom. Alexander III, the Great, 336-323 BC. Gold stater (8.58 g), uncertain Greek mint. Choice, with less common symbol. Head of Athena right, wearing crested helmet with coiled serpent ornament. Reverse: Nike standing left, holding wreath and stylus; ant and star at left. Price 831; Muller 179. Fully struck up, with considerable luster evident. Well centered. Superb Extremely Fine.
