Watts, Magda "The Tourists". Magda Watts (1929) was born in Hungary and was sent to Auschwitz at the age of 15. After becoming sick and unfit for labor, she started creating dolls from rags, which ended up saving her life. After immigrating to Israel, she continued making dolls and established a doll museum that relates the story of the Jewish Nation. Her dolls are recognized as Judaica and have become well-known throughout the world and exhibited in many exhibitions in the United States and Europe. Offered here is one of her usual whimsical creations "The Tourists". Piece measures 14 x 16 x 11" and is in wonderful condition, signed under base and with her small name plate. Estimate $800 - UP
