Great Britain. York Halfcrown, ND. S.2868. Charles I, 1625-1649. Provincial issue struck at the York Mint 1642-1644. Mintmark, Lion. King on horseback. EBOR below. Reverse: Crowned oval shield with C R at sides. Minor striking flaws as normally seen, above average and well struck for issue, attractive two-tone gray surfaces, fully original and scarce. Spink catalogue value is £825 in VF. NGC graded EF-40.
