Kingdom of Macedon. Alexander III, the Great, 336-323 BC. AR Tetradrachm (17.09 g) attributed to Babylon, c. 317-311 BC. Head right of Herakles, wearing lion's skin headdress. Reverse: Zeus enthroned left, holding eagle and scepter; in left field, monogram within wreath; under throne, "H". Price 3704; M. 714. Of fine style and struck in ultra high relief. Underlying luster and of excellent metal. Nearly Mint State.

This is a phenomenal example of this coveted issue, most probably struck under Antigonos at Babylon.
