Jetton to Commemorate Graduation from Moscow University, 1897. Gold. 18 mm (not including crown suspender). 5.75 gm. By the firm of Dmitri Osipov. Imperial eagle, on reverse "1897" at center; ?M.? - C.C. CTEPIO???O around. Maker’s mark "?O" and unclear "56" on loop. Unlike most reverses of this Jetton which are found engraved, this reverse is struck from a special die. As it names a specific graduate only one to a few would have been struck. Thus it would have represented a large cost to the graduate. Rare. Very Fine. Estimated Value $1,500
