Kingdom of Macedon. Alexander III, the Great, 336-323 BC. AR Tetradrachm (16.85 g) minted at Aspendos. Posthumous issue, circa 201 BC. Head right of Herakles, wearing lion's skin headdress. Reverse: Zeus enthroned left, holding eagle and scepter; in left field, A-sigma above IB (date). Price 2892; Mektepini 564 (same obv. die). Traces of underlying luster. Superb Extremely Fine.
