Lot 296

1794 S-22 R1. PCGS graded AU-55. CAC. Choice frosty tan and light brown with slightly darker steel brown toning on the highpoints of the devices. Essentially flawless, just lightly worn on the highpoints. The best identifying mark, and it is barely visible, is a tiny pinprick under the right foot of the N in UNITED. MDS, Breen state IV late or V early, with a "mound" at the top of the wreath and another at RICA. The mounds under NITE are just starting to show and there are die clashmarks on both sides. A very nice 1794 cent with outstanding eye appeal. Graded EF45 net EF40 and tied for CC#10 in the Noyes census, his photo #32192. Our grade is EF40+. The attribution and Nancy & Bryan Collection provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 2; 6 finer: 1 in 58, 1 in 58+, 2 in 62, 2 in 63 (PCGS # 35531) Value $6,000 - UP
