Perfect Casting: Jimmy Stewart & Marlene Dietrich in DESTRY RIDES AGAIN and Robert Taylor & Barbara Stanwyck THIS IS MY AFFAIR. DESTRY RIDES AGAIN (1939) : A Western comedy of sorts where Jimmy Stewart plays Tom Destry Jr. who arrives at the lawless town of Bottleneck to clear out the gangs and corruption. Frenchy, played by Marlene Dietrich is in a relationship with the corrupt saloon owner and starts to see Destry's side of things. This is the performance Madeline Kahn mimics in BLAZING SADDLES with perfect direction by Mel Brooks. Both Marlene Dietrich and James Stewart have signed an 8 x 10" B&W still, one of the famous portraits of them from the film and Universal Studios. COA by R&R Auctions. Superior condition.
THIS IS MY AFFAIR (1937) One of three films that starred Barbara Stanwyck and Robert Taylor (who dated for three years beginning in 1936 and married from 1939-1952) starred together in. The photo shown is actually a copy of a signed portrait photo from the film, but their actual signatures are on a large album sheet 4 x 6.25" and very bold and clean. Excellent condition.
