Sicily. Messana, c. 420-413 BC. AR Tetradrachm (17.2 g). Charioteer, holding reins, in walking biga of mules right; ethnic above, two confronted dolphins in exergue. Reverse: Hare leaping right, dolphin beneath right; ethnic around. Caltabiano 526 (D208/R223). Obverse die a little worn, but very sharply struck. Reverse somewhat double struck, but the hare splendidly characterized. Coin very lustrous. Extremely Fine.
