Lot 281

1851 N-18 R1 PCGS graded MS64 Brown. Very attractive lustrous light olive and steel brown with 15-20% of the mint red remaining visible. The only marks are three tiny pinpricks at star 2, a small spot nestled under star 6, a barely visible vertical scuff on the cheek, and a small rim nick over the first A in AMERICA. MDS, die state c early. The points down from the diagonals of the N's in ONE CENT are gone and the fields are lightly flowlined. Our grade is MS60+, tied for CC#13 in the Grellman census. The attribution and COL Ellsworth Collection provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 2; 3 finer: 2 in 65, 1 in 66. Estimated Value $500 - UP
